Vabljeni na delavnico in konferenco TRAIL 2025, ki bo v Postojni, med 28. in 30. oktobrom.

TRAIL (Training and Research in the Archaeological Interpretation of Lidar) je največji dogodek na svetu, ki je namenjen izključno uporabi metod aerolaserskega skeniranja oz. lidarja v arheologiji.

 

Dogodek v celoti poteka v Angleškem jeziku, zato je tudi celotno vabilo v angleščini.

Training and Research in the Archaeological Interpretation of Lidar

Postojna, Slovenia, 28-30 October 2025

 

The international meeting is open to researchers, PhD students, and professionals in archaeology and heritage management wishing to enhance their knowledge of airborne laser scanning and who are interested in studying farmed landscapes in an archaeological context.

TRAIL Meetings incorporate presentations of case studies and methods, interactive workshops, poster presentations, and a round table session. They provide opportunities for practical training through small group work. We aim for a 4:1 student teacher ratio in workshops to provide learning opportunities that go beyond basic technical skills. The entire group stays and takes meals on-site at the conference venue. We have an active social programme as part of the meeting, including an international potluck.

 

This year’s theme is Airborne laser scanning for farmed landscapes.

The workshops will be:

  • Gentle introduction in the archaeological interpretation of lidar derived data (pre-workshop)
  • Archaeological ground point filtering of lidar point clouds
  • Automatic Detection of Archaeological Features (ADAF)
  • Processing UAS lidar data
